Roshni
Ranganathan
A Data-centric Learning Experience Designer
I spot anomalies from font-sizes to datasets
(but I keep things witty to save my team’s feelings)
Having worked with lawyers and product managers for 7 years, backing what I say on data and research is second nature to me.
MY PROJECTSHere’s how I’ve approached designing various learning experiences by keeping both - my learner, and their data - at the centre.
My learners across these projects were under-skilled youth from semi-urban and rural communities of Karnataka and Tamilnadu.
LONG TERMMeasuring Soft Skills and Behaviours in Learners
Leading Content Strategy by observing users’ social media patterns
SHORT TERMDesigning a chat based learning experience through AI by observing learner behaviour
Using Octalysis Framework for (secretly) observing in-class student engagement of other ed-tech players
Values I strive to live my work-life by
-
So that what is measured can then be analysed and improved.
-
Respect and research your learners; they are not you. Their experiences are far different.
-
If that does not answer your queries, then formulate hypotheses and design experiments to validate them.
MORE ABOUT ME
At the completion of most learning experiences I design, I hibernate for two days just to clean the dataset and analyse patterns in my learners’ data.
In my free time, I’m usually playing complex strategy board games with my friends.
‘Board games is a love language’ is a petition I will gladly sign.
On trying days, Maria Popova’s writings on The Marginalian is my saving grace.
One of my favourites is her piece on ‘Kindness over fear’.
A BIT OF PRAISE HURT NO ONE 😋“Roshni is high in ownership and most dependable. It was great to have witnessed her growth as a leader-in-the-making in the last year.”
Pooja L • Former Manager at The/Nudge
“No matter the area of research, Roshni was meticulous with her work.
While Roshni’s professional acumen was immensely valuable, she was also a great team player. She was optimistic, reliable and easy to get along with.”
Jyoti D • Partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas

I knew I wanted to hire Roshni within minutes of speaking to her. She showed initiative from the start: setting up her own interview, asking the right questions, and jumping headfirst into ambiguity with focus and calm.
Whether it was designing new learner journeys, creating data systems to improve outcomes, or working with cross-functional teams to build tools from scratch, she brought clarity, pace, and follow-through every time.
She doesn’t just solve problems, she defines them well, aligns people around them, and builds toward long-term solutions. Roshni is the rare person I’d trust to lead in my place. I'd work with her again in a heartbeat.
Soorya Menon • Associate Director at Quest Alliance
I am not an expert in data, just an enthusiast who loves analysing data in the context of her learners.
Combine this with my meticulous research, goofy ideas and poor jokes, you’re in for a treat when you choose to work with me. :)
Be warned.. I ask a lot of questions.
